Rotajet manufacture the RDD rotary thermal plastic dryers for the reduction of moisture in plastics during processing. This machine is a rotating Archimedes drum dryer and is an incredibly effective way of dewatering film and rigid plastic materials down to below 0.5%.
Shredded or granulated plastics are typically fed into the Rotajet thermal dryer by an incline conveyor. The dryer is fitted with a high volume air blower to remove moisture from the input material. To increase energy efficiency, the hot air is re-circulated for reuse and maintains the operating temperature in a short time cycle.
Typically the Rotajet RDD thermal dryers are used when very low moisture levels are required or when there is waste heat energy from a plant; the waste heat can be transferred by a heat exchanger into the thermal dryer to maximise energy efficiency.
