Rotajet feed hoppers are used all over the world by many different industries, including; plastic recycling, waste to energy, and other general applications.
Rotajet cater for a full range of applications with our feed hoppers by offering many options in their construction and design. Depending on your application, we can manufacture this product from mild steel, 304 stainless steel or 316 stainless steel. Multiple sizes are also available and range from a few cubic meters to very large multi-chamber hoppers.
Generally, in the plastic recycling industry, they are fitted with screw auger conveyors to discharge the material. This means that, in normal applications, single screw augers are used and can be designed with various diameters; allowing you to achieve your desired throughput rate.
In very large plants, we can increase the throughput rate even further by fitting multiple screw augers; a system which also helps to avoid bridging and blockages. This system can remove blockages by adjusting the direction and speed of the screw augers; thus reducing machine downtime and improving your overall throughput rate. This can be controlled automatically as the torque, direction and speed of the screw augers are controlled and monitored through the PLC.
Feed hoppers for anaerobic digestion companies (AD recycling):
Typically, Rotajet manufacture machines for the AD industry in 304 stainless steel, with fitted with high torque screw augers. The feed hoppers are fitted with fully interlocked inspection hatches and PLC for online torque monitoring.
Feed hoppers for C&D waste and aggravates:
Rotajet manufacture feed hoppers for C&D waste, fitted with high-strength belt conveyors, and driven from the underneath using high torque drives. This type of hopper is also used for sand, soil, chalk, ore, topsoil, green waste, as well as many other materials.
